WiFi & Network Support
Dead zones, slow speeds, and dropped connections โ fixed.
Common Problems I Fix
“My WiFi is slow”
Nine times out of ten, it’s one of these:
- Router placement โ it’s in a closet, behind the TV, or in the worst possible corner of the house
- Channel congestion โ your neighbors’ routers are all fighting for the same frequency
- Old hardware โ that router from 2016 can’t keep up with 2026 devices
- ISP issues โ sometimes it really is their fault, and I can help you prove it
- Too many devices โ smart TVs, phones, tablets, cameras, thermostats… they add up
“The WiFi doesn’t reach my [room]”
Dead zones happen. Solutions include:
- Optimal router repositioning โ sometimes just moving it 10 feet fixes everything
- Mesh WiFi systems โ multiple access points that work as one seamless network
- WiFi extenders โ almost always make things worse and should be avoided at all costs
“My network is a mess”
Rogue gateways, double-NAT, unknown devices, printers that work sometimes โ I’ll untangle it and set up something clean.
What I Do
- Site survey โ I’ll walk your space and map the signal strength
- Router configuration โ proper SSID setup, security settings, QoS for priority devices
- Mesh network setup โ pick the right system, place the nodes, configure it properly
- Guest network setup โ keep your IoT devices and visitors off your main network
- Parental controls โ you might be surpised how much easier your life can be with the right router
- Small business networking โ VLANs, managed switches, access points for offices and retail
What You Should Know
- WiFi 6/6E is worth upgrading to if your router is more than 3-4 years old
- Mesh > Extenders in almost every scenario (extenders halve your bandwidth)
- Your ISP’s router is usually garbage. Buying your own modem + router saves money long-term and gives you better performance
- Ethernet is still king โ for gaming, streaming 4K, or working from home, nothing beats a cable
What It Costs
$60/hour for on-site visits. Most home network assessments and fixes take 1โ2 hours.
Mesh system setup, router configuration, and simple troubleshooting usually falls in the $60โ$120 range.
